How to Buy a Timeshare |
|
My way of buying timeshares is a little different. It may take a bit longer, but you'll save money. Start by selecting a favorite vacation spot. That's because if a timeshare exchange request doesn't work out, it's nice to own at a resort that you enjoy staying at. If it isn't far from home, you won't have to spend a lot of time and money getting there. And if it is a popular spot, others will be willing to exchange their weeks to go there. Going Onsite Now that you have a location selected, visit the timeshare resorts in the area. Skip the sales presentations. In fact, avoid resorts that are still in their initial selling phase. Their prices are inflated and there are too many... |

Timeshare as an Investment |
|
The most important reason for buying a timeshare is because you and your family are going to use it. Don’t get drawn in by some slick sales pitch into buying an interest in a property if you are not likely to stay there and never ever buy a property purely as an investment. If you buy a timeshare in a resort that you love and you plan on vacationing there every year, then it will turn out to be a great investment especially if you take into account savings on hotels over the years and other factors, says Patrick E. Dougherty, owner of Timeshares United, which handles timeshare properties worldwide. “With time share ownership available for less than $2,000 a week, buying makes a lot of... |

Timeshare Salesman - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly |
|
Actually I did not find much of anything good to say about timeshare salesman. You be the judge. It is a sales persons job to sell you their product, make money for the company and make a living for themselves. All well and good. When you pay your money for anything, whether it is a candy bar, a car or a house you expect to get fair value for your money. You would not expect to pay $100 for a candy bar. And if you spent $10,00 for a car you would expect it to have at least a steering wheel and tires. And if the person selling you the candy bar said it was 100% chocolate you would reasonably expect it to be chocolate. And you would expect to be able to eat it anytime you wanted to. When... |

5 Smart Reasons to Buy a Hassle-Free, Economic Timeshare
Author: Chris Robertson
If you're a frequent vacationer, you already know how expensive hotel rooms can be - especially during the peak season of a popular vacation spot. Also, each time you make travel plans, you must go through this same process over and over: a) Search for hotels in the area with the accommodations you need; b) Compare prices and value for each hotel; c) Make reservations; d) Pay a deposit.; and e) Check in and pay the balance. You do all this only to discover that the hotel is not exactly what you expected!
If you're expecting many more years of going through this same cycle, you might be ready for a timeshare. Here are five smart reasons to buy a timeshare.
1. Paid in Advance
Timeshares are usually paid for in advance or on a monthly basis, so you don't have to spend several months agonizing over where the vacation money is coming from each year. Timeshares are actually investments in your future plans. You probably save money each year to pay taxes, buy holiday gifts, buy school supplies and clothing, or even to pay for an upcoming event such as a wedding or party. Why not plan for your yearly vacation and buy or rent a timeshare?
2. Luxury Vacation Property
Most timeshares are considered to be a luxury vacation property because they offer so many advantages for vacationers. Many people buy timeshares just to have a beautiful, comfortable place to stay each year. Or, a large family might rent a timeshare just to have enough room to breathe! Either way, a timeshare makes a great vacation property for anyone. Many timeshares include a kitchen, spacious rooms, a swimming pool, recreational activities, a restaurant, a great location at popular destinations, and many convenient amenities.
3. Flexible Options
Timeshares offer flexible options. Those living in California can rent or buy Orlando timeshares. Those living in the Carolinas can buy Las Vegas timeshares or even Tahoe timeshares. The possibilities are endless. You can choose your favorite vacation spot, and buy a timeshare in that location, no matter where you live. Multi-location timeshares even allow you to stay at various locations of choice each year. You can choose from Tahoe timeshares, Orlando timeshares, Las Vegas timeshares and many other places once you join the timeshare network.
4. Earning a Return on your Investment
Not only do you earn a return on your investment by enjoying your timeshare each year, but you can also rent out the vacation property when you are unable to use it. Some owners even sell timeshares for profit. A timeshare resell is similar to selling other real estate properties.
5. Other Unique Benefits
There are other unique ways to use your timeshare. You might buy a timeshare for your own personal use, but also give a week's vacation away as a gift occasionally. Perhaps you aren't planning a vacation for a certain year, but you know someone who's getting married or has an anniversary coming up soon. What better gift than a week's getaway at your timeshare?
Consider these benefits before buying a timeshare, and be sure to invest in your future vacations wisely!

Buying a Timeshare Resale: Seven Tips For Success |
|
Most people know that when buying a timeshare, great care should be taken. However, even more care and research should be used when buying a timeshare resale. Timeshare resales cost much less than buying directly from a resort developer, but you should still keep your best interests at heart. Being informed about your timeshare will lead to a positive experience. 1. It is a very good idea to actually see the timeshare you are buying. Some timeshare resellers may "talk up" their timeshare. If the reseller says that the timeshare is in a beautiful place, be sure to check it out. A timeshare, even a resold timeshare, is a great investment. It is important to make sure that you are buying what you want. 2. Timeshare resales often have very appealing prices. Sometimes, these prices can cause the buyer to overlook crucial questions. Be sure to ask about maintenance fees and property taxes. If these have not been paid up-to-date, then the timeshare will cost significantly more than the base price. It is very important to know the whole cost before you decide to buy a timeshare. 3. Some timeshares are affiliated with an exchange company. If the timeshare you are purchasing is affiliated with an exchange company, make sure to find out if this membership can be transferred. Doing this can help you to avoid unnecessary hassles in the future. If the timeshare you are purchasing is a point-system timeshare, find out if the points are transferable. Finally, if there are any additional bonuses with the timeshare, find out if they can be transferred. 4. The seller often pays to advertise the timeshare, while the buyer is stuck with the closing costs. Be informed and find out all of the charges that you will be responsible for upon the closing of the sale. This is important... |
